Engineering, Cool! - Class Offering

We are excited to offer the Engineering, Cool! Program to area 5th and 6th grade students! It will be held at Mesabi East Elementary on six Tuesdays from 3:30 – 5:30, February through April, with a field trip to the Laurentian Environmental Center in Britt in May. The program is taught by dedicated engineers and scientists volunteering their time to encourage STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning. The class is paid for by sponsors of the Range Engineering Council (REC), including area mines, businesses, and organizations so there is no cost to students. This is a great opportunity for kids interested in math and sciences or just hands-on experiments to deepen this interest. Sample class offerings are attached, although it is still subject to change as we finalize this year’s program. Please contact Lindsay Engel, program coordinator, with questions (218-229-3321 x703).
